Kyle James (00:01.314) Hey, welcome to the AIs Chronicles podcast. I'm your host, Kyle James. Today we're going be diving in headfirst into how a coaching and automation company called Digital Dappeneur is using AI inside of their own business. And we'll share the exact steps that you can take in order to implement AI for yourself. Now, before I dive into that, listen closely. Are you looking to implement AI inside of your own company or just struggling to get AI to stop hallucinating? Speak to GPT Trainer. Scheduled consultation today, once again, that's gpt-trainer.com. Today I have with me Devin Dillard, who is the founder of Digital Dadpreneur. Devin loves to leverage AI, allowing him more time with the things that matter most. Hey, Devin, welcome to the show. Devan Dillard (01:17.117) What's up, man? Great to have you. Kyle James (01:19.318) They're super excited for this conversation today and digital Daproner. That's, an interesting title of a company. And I'm curious snore, but tell me like, how did, what is digital Daproner and like, how did it come to be? Devan Dillard (01:29.545) Yeah, man. So it's a pretty crazy story, honestly. So Digital Adaptenur is a brand that I'm building under a parent company that is focused on leveraging AI for dads, teaching them how to build and scale their businesses in a way that allows them to still be present dads in their family, but also to scale businesses really as far as they want to go. Right. So that's kind of the focus of the brand. But when it comes to like the creation and the founding of it, I'm a dad of five. So I've been a dad of five since probably eight years ago. Well, I started growing that eight years ago. And you know, we got there, our youngest is five and our oldest is 17, about to be 18. So the journey of just building businesses along those last probably eight to 10 years, you start realizing that you can get lost in it really fast. Kyle James (02:08.898) Yeah, yeah. Kyle James (02:25.272) Hmm. Devan Dillard (02:25.405) And I think about two years ago, I found myself at a conference, a little small mastermind really. And there was a mentor there that I had been following for years and he built eight figure businesses. And we we've known each other for a long time. And we started talking and he was like asking me questions about, he had just had a second child. was asking me questions about parenthood and like how to juggle everything. I'm like, bro, like you're asking me. Kyle James (02:51.96) Yeah, yeah, yeah. Devan Dillard (02:53.735) What do you mean? Like, you know, with all the eight figure businesses and, and there was, and really I'm a spiritual and faith based person. So like, feel like God just started talking to me in that moment right after, really after that moment. He was like, he was like, dad's like that need you. He need you. to teach what you've done. Because I built two six-figure businesses and one seven-figure business. And that was all done with me being at home managing life, managing kids. Like, I had two kids that stayed at home during that time and then three of them that were at school. it was craziness until AI started becoming what it is today. Kyle James (03:21.518) you Devan Dillard (03:36.585) So I'd say probably end of 2023, going into 2024, AI changed the game for what was possible. And really that's around a lot of the social media aspects. I know a lot of business owners use social media to generate business, generate leads, and it's so manual. It's been so manual for years. And it's been something that takes a lot of energy. Well, Kyle James (03:53.614) Mm-hmm. Kyle James (03:57.154) Right, right. Devan Dillard (04:00.905) As AI began to progress and I began to learn more about automations, I knew automations existed, but I really didn't understand it. I didn't understand what make.com was or any of other automation tools that were out. Because for me, I was just like, I'm going to delegate it to a VA. Right? Because you want to keep that personal touch and you want to keep some of that human in it. Right? But when AI came out and we started dabbling with AI for content creation, and then we started dabbling with AI for systems building and Kyle James (04:09.784) Mm-hmm. Kyle James (04:18.072) Yeah, right, right. Devan Dillard (04:30.889) we started realizing that AI can be used in a personal way, in a very human way. And once we realized that, we're like, hey, we got to start marrying the two and really build something out of this scalable that'll give me my time back. Like I didn't want to make seven figures and work 70 hours a week. It wasn't really possible for me anyway. I didn't have that many hours a day to work because I had so many responsibilities around my children. Kyle James (04:41.71) you Kyle James (04:46.913) Mm-hmm. Yeah, right. Devan Dillard (05:00.231) AI became a leverage point that has completely changed my business over the past two years. So that's what I'm used to from app and your account. Kyle James (05:07.042) Yeah, that's incredible, man. I love how the eight figure business owner came to you asking for advice, but I think that's so important because the fact that you're able to juggle, right? He's going to you because you can juggle, right? You're able to juggle the balance of working and working with businesses and making a profit for yourself, but then at the same time, managing your household with your family. Devan Dillard (05:23.57) Yeah. Kyle James (05:33.25) And if you lose the first, like if you, if you lose a family, like what good is the business? You know what mean? And so like for you to be able to handle that is, it's powerful. So walk me through a little bit here. Like I know that you're using AI over at Digital Dappreneur. think it's awesome what you're, what you're doing. but before we dive deeper though, like tell me like, why did you, I guess like specifically for your clients, like what challenges were you trying to solve outside of just like, Hey, let me just save you time. Like specifically for them, what challenges were you wanting to solve? when embedding AI in the first place. Devan Dillard (06:04.121) So majority of it is around social media management and lead generation. Okay. A lot of my clients are personal brands and they're building their personal brands on social media platforms. Right. The more AI became smarter and more accessible, we started to see that omnipresence was a must. Right. Because of, cause AI opened that up. And so people who were really good at Facebook, but they had no LinkedIn presence or no Instagram presence. Now you had to have all of it. Right. Because so many other people were starting to utilize AI and utilize automations to have that same presence. Right. Not everybody did it well. Like a lot of brands did that, but you could tell that it was all chat to be T right. It was, it wasn't quality content. So I wanted to be in a social media person for 13 years. I've. Kyle James (06:40.995) Right. Kyle James (06:53.718) Mm-hmm, yeah, yeah. Devan Dillard (06:59.485) been using social media marketing for 13 years now, paid and organic. And so I wanted to be able to do it in a way where it was still humanized, right? Or it still kept their voice and kept their personality in, but allowed them to expand to every platform that they desire, right? At the same time. And so the very first automation that I built was something called Omni, right? And it basically short for Omni presence. And I made it their content. Kyle James (07:08.994) Hmm. Kyle James (07:23.854) Okay. That's cool. I like the name. Devan Dillard (07:28.777) automated their content creation and their content distribution to like four or five different channels all at once. Right. So now somebody who was really good on Facebook is now showing up everywhere. And I did it for myself first. I was showing up on Instagram now. I was showing up on LinkedIn. I was showing up on Facebook. I was showing up on Twitter and like I was everywhere. And when people started telling me this, brought to see you everywhere. I was like, yes, like it's work. Kyle James (07:34.894) you Kyle James (07:53.067) Yeah. Devan Dillard (07:54.217) Right? So I started doing that for my clients as well and helping them solve that problem of being able to grow and scale their presence online. Kyle James (08:04.396) Yeah, yeah, that's incredible. it's like a like initially it's like it's like it started with you like you were trying to do for yourself and then it came to a point where okay once you've kind of automated all the different channels and again going back to the digital DAP and we were like how do I how do I do this faster so I can spend more time with families example like for them though they're like okay how do you're actually helping your clients do the exact same thing that you're doing for yourself so now they're not having to spend gosh I mean as you can see like hours apart hours per day, if not per week, to build out all the different content and create the content, they can use a lot of AI for it. But still at the same time, humanize it, which is honestly so important in the AI age, right? Everyone wants to humanize with AI, which is kind of a contradictory thing if you think about it, but it's definitely possible from what you're seeing and doing. Devan Dillard (08:55.389) Very possible. Yeah. Kyle James (08:56.792) So what types of like, know, like walk me through a little bit, on the, the, you know, working with your clients, not even just for yourself, but especially for your clients, like what, types of results have you been seeing so far since implementing a lot of this automation within, within your business and for your clients? Devan Dillard (09:12.105) So there are a couple of elements that I've noticed that create a massive increase in social media presence and impressions. One is starts with AI created images. That was the first thing I did. I hate taking video, and I hate being in front of the camera. And I hate taking selfies. And then I get bored of taking selfies in my office and at my house, because I Kyle James (09:35.04) Yeah. Kyle James (09:41.08) Yeah. Devan Dillard (09:41.639) So I'm like, I gotta take a selfie. And then it's expensive to go take photo shoots. So if I do a photo shoot, I'll spend like a few hundred dollars, maybe close to a thousand dollars if I gotta travel somewhere. So when AI started having the ability to create personal brand images, I got into that immediately. I dove into it and I started creating my own images. So I have a library of almost a thousand. Kyle James (09:46.446) Mm-hmm. Kyle James (09:53.454) Mmm. Kyle James (10:03.896) Hmm. Devan Dillard (10:09.961) personal brand images of myself now. And that, but it changed the game because now I can be anywhere. I can create whatever scene or scenery that I want. And that's where it's all about. It's not like some people, they're like, well, he's just trying to fake it till he makes it. It's like, no, like, I'm not putting myself on a diet or like, like I'm not riding. I'm just, I'm just somewhere that catches the eye, right? Kyle James (10:17.358) Yeah. Kyle James (10:30.796) Yeah, yeah, yeah, not like a Lamborghini Devan Dillard (10:37.019) And that's the important part about social media is that now I can create Instagram worthy images and put them on Facebook and LinkedIn. Right. And I can do it in minutes. Kyle James (10:48.716) Yeah, I saw some of like looking at, know, was creeping through your LinkedIn, LinkedIn account. And I saw some of your photos like, wow, this, this looks really professional. I was like, either he did hire someone. I couldn't tell the difference, you know, cause I don't know, you know, it's like, okay, he either hired someone to come into his office or go somewhere or, but in this case, like what you're sharing is like, Hey, like you've built out these professional photos using AI, having the backgrounds and then using that as like, when you're making the post, putting those photos on there. Devan Dillard (11:01.182) Yeah. Kyle James (11:18.094) You know, it's that way it's like they can, I mean, people want to know who they don't want to talk to. Nobody wants to talk to a robot only because the robot's like super fast. But ideally people want to talk to a human and get their answers, you know, their questions answered quickly. But like for you, it's like you're able to actually use that content that you've from your own photos and generate AI content that looks realistic and connects people to a new, a new level. I think that's incredible, man. And so like walk me through a little bit here. Like you obviously you're doing a lot for your clients and for yourself. Over these next year or two, what types of AI initiatives do you foresee taking place and where do see that taking a place in your operations next over 2025 and 2026? Devan Dillard (11:59.273) Yeah, I see a lot of businesses starting to delegate and outsource like complete teams to AI, right? And it's already happening, but it's going to start happening at the lower level businesses as well. So like it's already happening in your big corporate businesses. Like they're getting rid of entire divisions that AI can take over and do the, do the job of, right? I can give an example. We built a, um, a bookkeeper agent, right? That does all the bookkeeping tasks that Kyle James (12:08.728) Mm-hmm. Kyle James (12:16.835) Mm-hmm. Kyle James (12:25.998) Hmm. Devan Dillard (12:29.171) you can think of. And funny thing is, all the people that are interested are bookkeepers. They're like, hey, come and delegate all my work to the bookkeeper agent, right? Because they see the value in just leveraging that and not having to do all the work themselves, right? But that's going to be the same thing for different businesses that use bookkeepers, for businesses that have accountants, that have lawyers, that have different things that can be leveraged out to AI. Kyle James (12:35.246) That's hilarious. Kyle James (12:44.174) you Devan Dillard (12:57.507) And I think it's going to, it's going to start increasing as we get in towards next year and a year after that. And you're to start seeing small businesses, local businesses getting rid of their accounting departments, right. For AI agent, agentic employees, really like I call them employees. Like a lot of people like, they're agents. Like brother, it's an AI employee. They're getting hired and there's no W2 and there's no like benefits. This is build it and let it work. Kyle James (13:20.226) Yeah, it's working for you. Kyle James (13:25.378) Yeah. Yeah, that's great. Yeah. Devan Dillard (13:28.528) So yeah, I see that being a major shift in the market coming soon. Kyle James (13:33.809) Yeah. So like a lot of the small businesses, like, I mean, I've seen it too, right? Like with a lot of the enterprise and larger corporations, right? Like they are embedding AI from the top down, but it's like the small businesses, they're kind of left in a smaller medium. They're like, okay, we don't know where to start. We don't know. I've seen chat to be T like, where do we go? Like for what you're saying is like, Hey, look, the small business, maybe medium sized businesses. Like those are the ones who were kind of behind here. And, and I think it's so funny too. Like you mentioned the book, the bookkeeping. The ones who using the bookkeeping are the bookkeepers, which is so smart because think about it. If you're using like, if you're bookkeeping and you're using an AI bookkeeper, that means that you can use the AI as a tool, work with AI, and then you can expand your expertise so you can manage more. And that's all what AI is about, just making more. It's like, that's exactly what you're, yeah. Devan Dillard (14:22.537) Exactly. The scalability of the dough. They can go from only manually being able to do 10 clients a month to now being able use AI to scale up to 50 clients a month. Kyle James (14:33.582) Yeah, takes it to the next level. And Devon, appreciate your time today. And for those who are listening in and they're very curious to learn more about digital data, excuse me, like where can they learn maybe a little bit more that you suggest them going to for next steps? Devan Dillard (14:49.641) Yeah, I post content two or three times a day, every day. So come to my Facebook page is where I post most of my content. If you want to check out some of the stuff that we're working on, you can find me at digitaldapronoord.ai. Kyle James (15:04.416) Awesome. Amazing. Thank you so much, Devon.
